O "Castor Ansioso" (chamado nos EUA) série M foi lançado em 1950 pela Reo, com melhorias periódicas e mudanças continuadas em produção até os anos 90. Nestes anos outros fabricantes, Studebaker, Curtiss Wright, Kaiser Jeep, AM General, White também construíram em grandes quantidades, diversas carrocerias e configurações. Os últimos modelos vinham com motores diesel multi combustível em versões básicas para receber adaptações. As variantes incluíam guinchos, tanques, caçamba, e outras versões para equipamentos especiais. DETALHES TÉCNICOS : motores OA-331 ou Continental COA-331 6 cilindros gasolina com 127 hp a 3400 rpm,e mais recente o LD-465-1 e 1C multi combustível, com 170 hp a 2800 rpm. Embreagem seca, caixa de transmissão 5F1R, caixa de transferência com 2 velocidades e engrenamento automático do eixo dianteiro.Redução 6.72: 1 nos eixos. Sistema de freios ar/hidráulico. Feixe de molas invertido na traseira pneus 9.00 r 20 ou 11.00 r 20 com rodagem simples na traseira, 24 volts, 189 litros de combustível, guincho dianteiro cap. 5 ton., distancia entre eixos 3,91 mts, entre eixos traseiros. 1,21 mt, comprimento 6,98 mt, largura 2,43 mt, altura 2,81mt.altura mínima 0,32 mt peso 5.842 kg, carregado em estrada 10.605 kg.

Semi-elliptic leaf springs, inverted at rear. 9.00/20 tyres or 11.00/20 tyres single rear. 24volt electrics. 50-gallon fuel capacity. 5-ton front winch. Wheelbase 154 (rear axles 48) in. Overall length 275, width 96, height 111 in. Ground clearance 12.5 in. Weight 12880, gross (on roads) 23380 lb.
