O "Castor Ansioso" (chamado nos EUA) série M foram veículos Militares contratados pelo Depto de Defesa dos EUA e lançado em 1950 pela Reo, com melhorias periódicas e mudanças continuadas em produção até os anos 90. Nestes anos outros fabricantes, Studebaker, Curtiss Wright, Kaiser Jeep, AM General, White também construíram em grandes quantidades, diversas carrocerias e configurações. Os últimos modelos vinham com motores diesel multi combustível em versões básicas para receber adaptações. As variantes incluíam guinchos, tanques, caçamba, e outras versões para equipamentos especiais.
